Week 5 ::: closure

In contrast to last weeks talk on game spaces we looked at the construction of narrative spaces in cinema and how these are resolved to bring closure in a story.

All of these films/anime have an aspect of alternate reality construction to them as well... once again, highly recommend that you view these as part of your life as a digital artist and/or multimedia designer.

Week 3 ::: screening

After the fantastic work by all involved in the Alister in Wonderland / Cardboard Mayhem project we got back to work on the ARG brief.

I showed videos. Such as:
Denno Coil : cute anime that features a world in which Augmented Reality is everyday
Matthew Barney : The Order - excerpts from his 8 year conceptual video artwork The Cremaster Cycle
The Yes Men documentary : media pranksters promoting the recycling of McDonalds burgers for 'poor people' among other things...

And, in other news, Group A is back! NaT is the new perception altering Internet meme of 2009! (once they catch up on their research that is ^_^ )
